When it Snows during an Engagement Shoot

Weather in March can be fairly unpredictable, so when you are looking for a photoshoot in March, its best to expect the unexpected. Thats exactly what happened this past weekend as the weather changed from beautiful cloudless 65-degree sunsets to pretty nasty snow in the blink of an eye.

However, when you have an open mind and a fun couple, it could make for some absolutely wonderful pictures. After an evening of beautiful sunset photos on Brown’s Island in Richmond, Virginia (FYI it was great to be back in Richmond for a weekend!), the weather turned. But it was during the shoot the future bride mentioned how she would have loved some fun snow photos. At the time, snow was not in the forecast, but after a few hours of snow, I gave her a call. She was still at a bar with her fiance and a mother law, but if we wanted to take advantage of the weather, it had to be done fast! After a quick decision, we decided to meet up in 15 minutes in a park between me and the couple and take some really fun snow photos.

These are sometimes the most fun pictures you can have. Sure, the hair dresser didn’t stylize anyone’s hair, and the outfits weren’t methodically selected, but the fun nature of the last minute photoshoot made it a fun lighthearted shoot that captured some real fun.
